Respiratory System

The respiratory system is a complex network of organs and tissues that facilitates gas exchange between the environment and the blood. The respiratory system includes the nose, mouth, throat, lungs, and diaphragm. When we breathe in, air travels through the nose and mouth into the lungs, where oxygen is absorbed into the blood. Carbon dioxide is then expelled from the lungs when we breathe out.
